About

Faith - August 2009

I’m on the run, so I gotta make this quick.

My name is Faith, and this blog is inspired by the book “Vegan Soul Kitchen,” by Bryant Terry. I’m going to attempt to cook all 150 recipes in VSK, plus a few other recipes as they strike my fancy, and blog my efforts.  All of the photos you will see on my blog will be pictures of food that has actually been cooked by me, and photographed by my husband.  (Even that luscious, crispy rosemary-baked tofu in the banner is from last night’s dinner.  Mmmmm! )  I don’t care how much the pic looks like an ad, or something that may have come from a book– I promise you these pics are of HOME-COOKED FOOD. The food has been cooked by your’s truly.  The photographs have been taken inside of my home, on my dishes, and by my husband, Marc Skinner.  (My husband is a professional photographer, so I don’t expect to post many run-of-the-mill snapshots, unless I take them myself, LOL.)

That’s all for now.

Peace!

Faith

  2. Sophia….YOU are awesome!!! Thank you so much for your inspiration!

  3. Awesome. I’ve recently had a week straight of recipes from Vegan Soul Kitchen, and it was fantastic! I heart Bryant Terry!

    • Mmmm! Amanda, that must have been one tasty week at your house, lol! What was your favorite thing from VSK? (And what were the dogs’ opinions of the leftovers? Those are a couple of lucky pups!)

I’m thinking of doing a series of “VSK Virtual Dinner Requests” for Vegan MoFo III. Is there anything you’d like to see me make? If so, I’ll cook it and invite you for a virtual dinner, LOL!

      Bring your boots!

      • So far my favorite was the Johnny Blaze Cakes, but I made them with a little less liquid and they ended up more corn-bready. I also loved the Cajun-Creole Tempeh! No leftovers for the poor doggies this time!

I would suggest the Jamaican Veggie Patties! I’ll bring the accompanying virtual wine! 🙂

  5. Great site, I have added this page to my social bookmarks

  6. I have the “Vegan Soul Kitchen” but haven’t cooked anything from the cookbook yet. You are definitely inspiring me to do so. I am not vegan but I do find the recipes to be a healthier option and the dishes look amazingly delicious. Thanks for blogging.

You are more than welcome! And considering your comment, I may have to return to this cooking project. It’s been years later, and I see that people still find their way to this blog, and enjoy the reviews!
