This recipe comes from Tami over at the blog Tami Transcends Tofu.  Tami modified Isa Chandra Moskowitz’s basic scone recipe from Vegan Brunch, by adding lavender and blueberry to the mix. These scones are delightfully crisp on the outside, moist and flaky on the inside.  Enjoy these warm. The faint taste of lavender permeates the dough very nicely.  (But be careful. If you are using dried lavender, you might not want to use 1/4 cup.  I did, and there’s a slight bitter bite to mine.  Still, we are gobbling them up!)   And the pop of juicy blueberries in every bite just makes me want to melt down to my knees.  Now go on….click right here.  Get this recipe.   And then tell Tami I sent you.

  3. Faith-
That photograph is absolutely gorgeous!!! Isa makes a yummy scone, doesn’t she? You can keep the basic recipe and change the add-ins, so this recipe has never ending yummy possibilities!

  4. Which condiments did you guys eat them with?

    • Honestly Susan + Sanjay…..nothing. The blueberries are gushing with warm juice, and the lavender adds a heady aroma and a floral flavor. What can top that??? Besides, the dough is slightly sweet, and this vegan recipe makes a scone that is not as dry as the typical scone. I suppose if you wanted to add a little bit of a salty contrast, you could use a vegan spread like Earth Balance. But from my first bite, it just never occurred to me to put anything on top of this scone.

I never knew blueberry and lavendar was such a great combo until I tried a sorbet a couple of weeks ago. So good. That scone looks fantastic!

  6. Mmmm….Must find source of blueberry/lavender sorbet! Mo, spill the beans, LOL!
